The Ducati Monster has been instrumental in popularizing the naked motorcycle segment. Since its introduction in 1993, it has been a symbol of minimalist design. According to Miguel Galluzzi, the designer, the Monster embodies simplicity with just a seat, tank, engine, two wheels, and handlebar.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the iconic Ducati Monster, the company has released a special edition. Over the past three decades, Monster has garnered a huge following, with more than 350,000 units sold.

This special edition retains the signature features that made the Monster so beloved, including its superbike-style chassis, wide handlebars, and fairing-less design. Although, the distinct steel trellis frame has been replaced with a lighter aluminium architecture since 2020.

One of the noticeable upgrades in the 30th anniversary edition is the striking Italian tricolour livery. The tank is adorned in red and white, while the tail is in white and green. The seat is also embroidered with a special 30-year logo, adding a touch of exclusivity.

Furthermore, the rims have been color-matched to the Ohlins NIX30 fork, specifically for this model. Upon starting the motorcycle, a dedicated 30th-anniversary animation plays, immersing riders in the celebration of this milestone. Additionally, a serialized plate is proudly displayed on the upper clamp, underscoring the limited nature of this special edition.

However, it goes beyond just aesthetic changes. Despite the makeover, the liquid-cooled twin-cylinder “Testastretta” engine still delivers an impressive 111 horsepower. The introduction of the Ohlins fork not only reduces weight but also improves the handling of the motorcycle by decreasing ground clearance.

Not only is the appearance enhanced, but the performance is also elevated. The special edition features the Brembo Stylema braking system with lighter front calipers, aluminum flanges, and brake discs compared to the stock Monsters. This upgrade not only ensures optimal stopping power but also contributes to overall weight reduction.

Furthermore, the brand-new forged rims play a crucial role in improving performance. With a reduction in unsprung weight by 4.1 pounds, the moment of inertia is decreased by 21.8% for the front wheel and 26.9% for the rear. This reduction enhances agility and responsiveness, resulting in an even more exhilarating riding experience.

Equipped with all the essential electronics, the bike is fully loaded with the Monster’s electronics suite. The standard features include ABS cornering, traction control, and wheelie control, allowing for a safe yet thrilling ride. Riders can choose from Sport, Road, and Wet riding modes, all available on the 4.3-inch colour TFT LCD screen, further enhancing the customization options. However, the Ducati Monster 30th Anniversario is an exclusive edition, with only 500 units being produced.

Out of these limited units, only 100 will be made available to U.S. dealerships in early 2024, priced at an MSRP of $18,595. This exclusive offering makes owning one of these commemorative motorcycles even more desirable.
