This most elegant Carrera is the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s homage to the John Player Special livery made famous by Ayrton Senna’s championship-winning Lotus 87in the ‘80s.
Swiss watchmaker brand, TAG Heuer, is worldwide known as the chronograph of voice of some of Formula 1’s greatest teams and drivers. Since 1963, the brand has created incredible watches, building them on a sophisticated deep black dial and gold lineage of legendary racing timepieces. This year, the brand has officially announced its latest design, the TAG Heuer Carrera Cronograph.

The latest’s TAG Heuer’s latest release fully embraces this classical sporty luxe look, with a Carrera design that takes loose inspiration both the coveted Heuer Carrera 1158 CHN and the classic John Player Special livery made legendary by Lotus Formula 1 cars I the ‘70s and ‘80s. The new gold TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph offers a striking, luxurious new look that combines retro, flash with the modern Carrera silhouette.
The new TAG Heuer (in yellow gold ref. CBN2044.FC8313) also features the same classic 42-mm case as before, but it is now made of solid 18K 3N yellow gold with gold pushers and crown, enhancing the dial’s legibility and elegance. “In a stunning black and 18K 3N yellow gold execution, this TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph takes inspiration from an iconic racing livery to reinforce the collection’s connection to motorsport.” The brand shared.
The rich black sunray brushed dial, meanwhile, allows the simmering precious metal to truly pop by way of stark contrast. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 bars (100 metres / 330 feet). It is also protected by a domed beveled sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment. There is also a discreet running second indicator that runs at 6 o’clock and a date aperture complete the ensemble.
