The Rimac Nevera is capable of accelerating from 0 – 100 km/h in just 1.95 sec.

The hypercar, Rimac Nevera, produced by the Croatian company Rimac Automobili has become the world’s fastest electric production car. The company, which is known for building eccentric hypercars with sleek styling and impressive performance figures, has announced its milestone achievement and revealed that its sleek Rimac Nevera electric hypercar has got a new record-breaking top speed figure of 412 kilometres per hour (km/h). The car has been tested at the Papenburg testing track in Germany. Rimac said, “Like the mighty storm system from which it takes its name, Nevera is a force like no other.”
The Croatian hypercar went to the Automotive Testing Papenburg track in Germany to set a new speed record. During the testing, Rimac’s chief test and development driver, Miroslav Zrnčević, was behind the wheel. The car was planned to reach only 150 units, and its four electric motors produced a combined total of 1,914 horse powers.
“The speed achieved makes the Nevera the fastest production electric car, and it is the fastest speed ever recorded at the Automotive Testing Papenburg circuit. The speed was measured using the Racelogic V-Box, a high-precision GPS-based measuring device. The top speed of 412 km/h was a goal set by the Rimac team when the car was first unveiled as the C-Two at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, and now after 1.6 million hours of development – that speed has been confirmed,” the company said.

“To travel at 412kph, or 258mph, means travelling at a third of the speed of sound. Simply achieving that alone in a road car is incredibly complex, but in Nevera we have created a car that can travel long distances on a single charge, can tackle tight and twisting race tracks and can drift as well as break straight-line speed records, both for acceleration and V-MAX.” said Miroslav Zrnčević.

In addition to becoming the fastest EV production car, the Nevera also holds the title of being the “fastest accelerating production car,”. In june 2021, this previous mentioned title was not official, but the company decided to make it official in August 2021. The electric hypercar was able to blast across a quarter mile in 8.582 seconds.

“When setting the record, the Nevera was set in the so-called Top Speed mode, creating an aerodynamic profile that balances drag and downforce to ensure stability at high speeds,” the company said in a press release, adding that the Nevera was equipped with Michelin Cup 2R tyres, under the supervision of Michelin technician.

The electric hypercar is capable of accelerating form 0 – 100 km/h in just 1.95 seconds, thanks to its four electric motors, which produce a combined total of 1,914 BHP. While the Nevera has blocked 412 km/h, the company the Rimac’s $2.4 million hypercar is delivered to customers with a limited top speed of 340 km/h but it can reach a top of 412 km/h under “controlled conditions”.
