A premium sneaker from Adidas ‘Home of Classics’ collection, this luxe leather Stan Smith honours the simple purity of the tennis shoe’s original design.
Originally named “Adidas Robert Haillet”, the “Stan Smith” is a classic sneaker that only gets better with age. In 1978, the sneakers were renamed Stan Smith to honour an American tennis player, who was active between the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1980s. For over 50 years and counting, the Adidas Stan Smith shoe has remained an undisputed design icon. Transcending subcultures, fashion cycles and trends, the shoe’s enduring appeal lies in its simple yet premium style.
After initially releasing in Europe, this new “Stan Smith Lux” by Adidas gets an update in the timeless Stan Smith Lux edition, and it’s finally available in the U.S. as of this week, featuring all the hallmarks of the sporty, eternally stylish kicks, with a few premium updates.

With a clean look that nods to the OG, this iteration is effortlessly elevated with premium details. The court-inspires shoe is crafted entirely from buttery –soft leather, from the inner lining to the extra leather patch in the heel that provides heightened comfort and durability. The foil branding on the tongue is a simple yet elegant finish.
The Stan Smith quickly went from tennis court trend to streetwear legend, especially with its cleaner white-based aesthetic with green accents. Now, Adidas is trying to go one step further. For starters, clients will enjoy the sophistication of a smooth leather lining while the heel patch has a soft aesthetic that will elevate every look and will provide greater durability. Gold or silver details are also present to give this new shoe edition a luxurious touch. In black version, everything is monochrome, which gives it a special elegance. Intricate 360-degree stitching around tooling is joined by buttery leather and matte metallic branding.
Three colourways of the Adidas Stan Smith Lux are poised for a release in December to suit every style, which includes a white Pantone that combines white and off-white colouring with a dark green heel and gold branding elements. There are also off-white-Pantone variations, where the cream base is accompanied by gold branding and a maroon heel, while a triple-black “Core Black” completes the range. The shoes will also be available in plenty of sizes.
For those interested in purchasing a pair, the time-honoured silhouette “Stan Smith Lux” shoes are retailed for just $125, aside from the “Core Black” look that will be available for 136 USD.
