Here are the best bourdons to drink in 2023.

If you’re into bourbons, updating your list of current drinks is essential. Bourbons are a great choice in whiskey if you’re looking for something more complex than your average liquors. They are also a great choice as they contain antioxidant properties and are low in both sugar and carbohydrates.
Choosing the best bourbon to drink can be a tough activity, as drinks must follow certain rules during the process of whiskey. Bourbons must be made from a mash bill containing at least 51 per cent corn, aged in new charred oak containers (not barrels, even though virtually all bourdon is aged in them), distilled in the U.U., and meet certain proof requirements, which you can Google if you are interested in checking them.
We curated our list so of the best bourbons to try in 2023. Don’t forget to enjoy a cocktail with a snack, such as olives, popcorn, cocktail onions, deli meats, cheeses, raw veggies, dips and dried or fresh fruits. Let’s have a look at the five bourbons you should drink this year. Cheers!
NELSON BROTHERS ‘RESERVE’ BOURBON
Nelson Brothers Reserve Bourbon is the second release in a new line from Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery which launched in June 2022. This bourbon packs a punch but is soft and gentle at the same time, offering red berry and vanilla malt aromas and a palate of melted marshmallows, coconut shavings, and baked apples. This is a high-rye bourbon with a high proof of 107.8 that manages to not overshadow its inner beauty. Its scents include root beer, sandalwood, and baked apple. Notes of saddle leather come in on the mid-palate, leading up to a finish of burnt orange, vanilla and maple. Nutty oat and peach blossom to ginger, blackberry, and spiced tea flavours this bourbon.

WYOMING WHISKEY ’10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION’ STRAIGHT BOURBON
Wyoming Whiskey unveiled its latest straight bourbon “10th Anniversary Edition Straight Bourbon Whiskey’ to celebrate 10 years of whisky. Founding Master Distiller Steve Nally and Master Blender Nancy Fraley have barrel selected and batched a 10-year-old rye bourbon worthy of the milestone. The liquor features 68% of corn, 20% of rye, and 12% malted barley. It also has got notes of Rye Manhattan cocktails, with brandied cherries, Medjool dates in thick syrup, cayenne pepper-candied pecans, and baklava drizzled with orange blossom honey. This is a bourbon with a high proof of 103.4, which offers a palate taste of candied yams with pecans and toasted marshmallows, black currant liqueur, sweet cornbread muffins with honey butter, ad cinnamon toast with blackberry-maple syrup.

GEORGE T. STAGG ‘ANTIQUE COLLECTION’ BOURBON
George T. Stagg is a powerful, flavourful and intense whiskey aged in new charred oak barrels for no less than 15 years. Tasting notes include lush toffee sweetness and dark chocolate with hints of vanilla, fudge, nougat and molasses. Underlying notes of dates, tobacco, dark berries, spearmint and a hint of coffee round out the palate.

BESPOKEN SPIRITS STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY
This bourbon features notes of dried fruit such as prunes or raisins, which come up to the front. There is also a dark molasses note chased by a hint of orange peel. Malty front accompanies by the taste of mushy oatmeal raisin cookie and a hint of apple.

FOUR ROSES SMALL BATCH SELECT BOURBON WHISKEY
Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon is a premium bourbon made from a blend of six different barrels all containing a different mash build/yeast varietal. Classic bourbon aromas of sweet vanilla, cinnamon and oak bark are the prominent scents. Beyond these is a sweet array of fruit cobbler, caramel, a touch of crème brulee, and spice. The nose has a pleasant amount of depth and brings forward a nice combination of sweet and fruity. While it is 104 proof, there is a slight layer of ethanol present throughout.
