Prada Blends Complex Composition and Bold Character in Its Latest Cologne.

Luxury fashion house Prada has unveiled its latest olfactory creation: Paradigme, a masculine fragrance that defies convention and embraces complexity. Far from a standard scent, Paradigme pushes boundaries, reinterpreting what it means to wear masculinity on the skin.
A follow-up to the brand’s hit fragrance Paradoxe, Paradigme takes its name from a reimagined anagram of “Prada.” It’s more than just clever wordplay — it signals a continuation of Prada’s ongoing exploration of duality, identity, and individuality. With Paradigme, the brand goes even further, presenting a fragrance built on contradiction and tension, boldness and restraint.
Behind this innovative scent is a powerhouse trio of master perfumers: Marie Salamagne, Bruno Jovanovic, and Nicolas Bonneville. Their vision? To flip traditional fragrance composition on its head. Literally.

Rather than follow the standard pyramid of top, middle, and base notes, Paradigme inverts the formula. “Inverting the conventions of composition to create a ‘reverse pyramid’ allowed the fragrance to unfold uniquely,” says perfumer Nicolas Bonneville. “With base notes emerging first and gradually revealing heart and top notes, this inversion creates a truly captivating and unexpected experience.”

That journey begins with a rich Ambery Woody base — a blend of Peru Balm, Benzoin resin, and Guaiac wood. These ingredients ground the scent in smoky warmth, adding a sensual, resinous character that usually lingers in the dry-down but here greets the wearer right away.
The heart introduces a floral contrast through geranium extract. Though often associated with feminine fragrances, in Paradigme it adds a fresh, green sharpness to the composition — a subtle nod to evolving ideas of gender and scent.

Finally, the top reveals itself last: Calabrian bergamot heart and ethereal musks that lend brightness and clarity. It’s an unusual olfactory arc — base first, sparkle last — that turns the traditional fragrance experience inside out.
This approach echoes Prada’s broader message of self-expression and fluidity. As principal perfumer Marie Salamagne explains, “Paradigme is an irresistibly harmonious experience of tension, through which the senses navigate endlessly, between softness and freshness, strength and delicacy, power and subtlety.”
The scent’s debut is further elevated by a high-profile campaign featuring actor Tom Holland, known for his dual roles as Spider-Man and Odysseus. His presence underscores the fragrance’s central theme: modern masculinity is multifaceted, constantly shifting, and deeply personal.

Paradigme arrives in the brand’s signature sleek bottle design — minimalist, elegant, and understated — reflecting the same duality present in the scent itself. Available in 50ml and 100ml formats, the fragrance starts at $115.
For those tired of predictable colognes or one-note scents, Paradigme offers something else entirely: an invitation to explore complexity, contradiction, and confidence in unexpected places. It’s not just a new fragrance — it’s a new way of thinking about fragrance.
