Designed by Aston Martin’s Q department and inspired by the classic DBR1, this two-seater convertible features no windshield and a 715 hp 5.2-liter V12 biturbo, which make its debut at Pebble Beach.

Aston Martin is having a very busy 2022, since it has currently taken the opportunity to present a new limited edition model created by its famous customization department Q by Aston Martin. A sports car that at the moment is presented as a concept with the name of Aston Martin DBR22, paying a clear tribute to the past of the British firm in the world of competition.
“We set our design systems to hyper-drive, pushing the exploration of formalism further and endeavouring to express a future in the here today. Combining this approach with advanced processes, technology, and materials, we’ve effectively modernised our racing bloodline and created a new pedigree. DBR22 is an Aston Martin sports car full of speed, agility and spirit, and a machine that we think will be the basis of many of tomorrow’s icons,” said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer.
The DBR22 will officially be showcased for the first time at the Monterey Car Week on August 21. The DBR22 celebrates the 10th anniversary of Q by Aston Martin, the carmaker’s customization division for exclusive customers. Besides, the body panels of the DBR22 are unique in design and limited to this exclusive coach itself, making it ultra-exclusive.

“For a car that was designed to celebrate the ultimate bespoke customization service, the engineering developments mean DBR22 truly has the dynamic theatre to match, ensuring the drive is just as addictive as it looks.”

Aston Martin states that the DBR22 is created with limited number of body panels with several bespoke design elements. Like the unique carbon fibre design of the new front grille, which has been directly inspired from the DBR1 and DB3S. The cockpit extensively uses both leather and exposed carbon fibre. The dashboard is all-new, not seen in any other Astion Martin models. Despite several blings, in the form of shiny paint and exposed carbon fibre and leather bits, the DBR22 is at its core a racing car complete with carbon fibre performance seats, and a lighter carbon fiber chassis underneath.

The DBR22 equips the 5.2 -litre twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 705 hp and 753 Nm of torque. Aston Martin claims that there lates open-cockpit two-seater sports car can do 0-110 km/hr in under 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 319 km/hr. It rides on 21 inches wheels which again gets an unique 14-spoke design with motorsport styled centre-hub lock. Power and torque are sent to these rear wheels via an 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.
