Aston Martin’s Valkyrie supercars, including the track-only AMR Pro version, are making waves. Aston Martin recently unveiled the Valhalla’s final iteration with a staggering $800,000 price tag. What justifies this hefty price? Well, for starters, Aston Martin F1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll played pivotal roles in its development.

With an advanced hybrid powertrain, the Valhalla harmonizes the immediate electric torque from its 150kW battery hybrid system with the might of a four-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine, resulting in an impressive 950bhp output. This power is seamlessly managed by a newly designed eight-speed transmission tailored specifically for the upcoming hybrid era.

Enabling remarkable performance metrics, the Valhalla boasts the potential to complete a lap around the Nürburgring in under six minutes and 30 seconds, propelled by a rapid 0-62mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed reaching 330km/h (217mph).

The Valhalla’s performance is further elevated by a suite of active aerodynamics, particularly in the front surfaces and rear wing. Additionally, enhancements in underbody airflow contribute to the creation of 600kg of downforce at 150mph, ensuring unparalleled stability.

“Aston Martin’s first series production mid-engine supercar, Valhalla, is a truly transformational moment for this ultra-luxury brand,” said Aston Martin Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll.

“The launch of Valhalla demonstrates Aston Martin’s commitment to building a range of exceptional mid-engine driver-focused cars, a crucial next stage in the expansion of our product line-up.

The Valhalla is infused with F1-inspired technology, such as Drag Reduction System (DRS)-style wings, a carbon fibre bucket seat adjustable like an F1 car’s, and vortex-generator-like louvres generating 1,323 pounds of downforce at 150 mph. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, specifically crafted for the Valhalla, is fed by an F1-inspired snorkel. But that’s not all—the powertrain boasts 998 horsepower sent to all four wheels, thanks to two electric motors on the front wheels and a third on the transmission.

“It also seemed fitting to unveil this stunning track-based supercar at the home of motorsport and the home of the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team, marking Aston Martin’s return to the British Grand Prix for the first time in over 60 years, a true milestone.” The Valhalla is the latest step in Aston Martin’s Project Horizon, which commits the brand to electrifying 90% of its road car line-up by 2030.

More intriguing details are on the horizon; once the first running prototype hits the road later this year, additional revelations will precede the production of the initial batch of 999 Valhalla examples in 2024.
