Check out the new Bowmore x Aston Martin Masters’ Selection series.
Scottish distillery brand Bowmore collaborates with British carmaker Ashton Martin to create their latest release, “Masters’ Selection 22-Year-Old” – a limited-edition single malt aged for more than half a century. Bringing these two worlds together, both the distillery and carmaker brands also collaborated with Ron Welsh, Master Blender, and Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer, to launch their first bottling in the range. Each one of them a master of their art who shaped and influenced every product produced, be that Bowmore single malt Scotch whisky or an Aston Martin car.
“This is a collaboration of perfect proportions, the optimal combination of skill, passion and precision. Taking each Master’s creativity and character; bringing together harmoniously to create a beautiful, yet powerful equilibrium.” From Bowmore.
“In coming together with Bowmore, we can imagine, discover, and create together, taking inspiration from one another constantly,” said Aston Martin CCO Marek Reichman in a statement.
“We talk about shared synergies between the contrasting worlds of Bowmore and Aston Martin and this is what truly defines the relationship Marek and I have formed,” said Bowmore Master Blender Ron Welsh. “We have relished in the opportunity to share experiences, ideas, and thoughts from each other’s worlds, listening and learning from the inherent skill, knowledge and creativity we both possess. In collaborating as guardians of our respective legacies, we recognize the honour bestowed upon us.”
This new bottle is much more traditional and bottled at 51.5 per cent ABV. The liquid within is an excellent example of how over two decades inside of barrels agrees with the Bowmore distillate. The whisky was distilled in 1997 and 2000 and aged in American oak hogsheads and sherry butts, with tasting notes of sweet peach, apricot, tobacco, cloves and medical aromas. It is followed by honey and maritime brininess undercut by a subtle smokiness.
For this new whisky, Bowmore adopted the Golden Ratio to combine the components, “each of which adds their own unique flavours and layers of complexity to the final whisky.” The brand also took proportions into account as they “define the character and shape flavour combinations; from cask selection and age to blending.”
This new Bowmore Masters’ Selection 22-Year-Old Edition 2 resulted in a single malt which has been perfectly designed for those special moments shared with nearest and dearest friends and family. This whisky provides with a very powerful and memorable finish. The limited-edition whisky is available in the US, UK, Germany, Canada and China with a suggested price of $450 USD.
